Play Ideas and Advice - Balloon Chasing

Keep a packet of balloons handy for an impromptu 'balloon chasing' games.

Balloons are fantastic for young children who still haven't quite got the coordination for catching balls. Balloons are bigger and move slower, making them easier to catch.

Tip: Blow a few up at the beginning of each play time so that when one pops (and they will) you can keep on playing.

Add an extra element of fun to the game.

If you have any rackets (badminton, squash or tennis) that you don't mind your kids getting hold of, they're another great way of keeping the game going a little longer.

Take a racket each and see how many times you can hit the balloon to each other (you will need quite a bit of space for this version – the garden is best, but on a windless day).
