Play Ideas and Advice - Hide 'n' Seek With Toys

Sometimes we simply don't have the spare time to do the 'playing' our kids demand of us. This is a great option for you so that you can direct the play whilst doing something else – you are helping your child do constructive play.

  • Get your child to find a favourite toy.
  • You then hide the toy in the room that you are working.
  • Get your child to count to ten (or 100, depending on how much time you need… and they're counting ability).
  • Hide 'n' Seek begins. Children may not understand hot and cold if they are still quite young, so give them hints that they can understand such as: you're close, nearly, near the chair, in that direction etc.
